Netflix, Tender Claws Will Bring Stranger Things VR in Winter 2023

A new "Stranger Things" game is coming to coming to the VR platform.

As part of the "Stranger Things" Day 22 celebration, Netflix and Tender Claws announced that they will release Stranger Things VR.

It is an upcoming game which is based on the series. It is set to be released on major VR platforms and it's expected to arrive in Winter 2023, according to IGN.

Players Will Be Able to Play as Villain Vecna in the New Stranger Things VR

Netflix announced that the new Stranger Things VR is a psychological horror/action game. It will be developed by Tender Claws.

What's interesting in the game is that players will be able to play as Vecna, the villain of "Stranger Things" season four.

Netflix notes that players can become explorer of unknown realities. Moreover, as Vecna, players will be able to "invade minds and conjure nightmares" as they try to seek revenge on Eleven and Hawkins.

During the "Stranger Things" Day 2022 celebrations, a short teaser of the upcoming Stranger Things VR was shows. It features the ticking grandfather clock, there are demogorgons, and there's even a brief appearance of Eleven.

Since its coming to major VR platforms, Forbes says that it presumably means Steam VR, Meta Quest, and PlayStation VR2.

"Stranger Things" is already quite familiar with the world of video games and VR. In facts, there has been Stranger Things: The VR Experience.

Additionally, there has been multiple mobile games based on the series. Likewise, there has been an existing mobile and console game called Stranger Things 3: The Game.

Meanwhile, Tender Claws has previously worked on VR games. The developer is behind Virtual Reality 1 & 2, The Under Presents, Tempest, Tendar, and George in the Tub.

Netflix Brings Back Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales Game

It seems that Netflix has been investing on "Stranger Things"-based games as the streamer also announced that it will bring back Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales game.

The game was first released in 2021. However, it was removed from App Store and Play Store in August after Netflix acquired it for $72 million.

Later on, the streaming service announced that it is introducing some changes and revamping Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales games. After some time, it was moved exclusively to Netflix Games.

Now with the relaunch of the game, users are allowed to play as new characters of "Stranger Things" season four, according to a report by iTechPost.

Following the relaunch of the game, players will enjoy the interesting gameplay, which involve solving puzzles to beat the enemies such as demogorgons and other monsters.

Another unique feature of the game is the player will be able to collect up to 50 versions of characters from the series.

"Stranger Things" is a popular American science fiction horror drama series. It was created by the Duffer Brothers, who are also the showrunners of the series.

Netflix released the first season on July 15, 2016 while its fourth and penultimate season were released in May and July 2022.

The series was renewed for a fifth and final season on February of this year. The final season of "Stranger Things" is set to film in 2023.
