Elon Musk Might Put Twitter Behind a Paywall, Reports Say

The Twitter drama just won't end. Elon Musk is once again under the spotlight as news of Twitter being put behind a paywall emerged. The company is still running like a headless chicken with its former employees as it tries to take them back.

Some workers even say that the efforts for the Twitter Blue subscription, might even cause the company to lose more money.

The social networking company has yet to hear from its new head, Elon Musk. Reports from The Verge say the Tesla CEO has not said a peep, whether it's via email or through a company meeting. Employees did not even know who their managers are anymore. Musk's leadership has caused Twitter employees to plant doubts about the company's future.

Chaos Within Twitter

Reports say that there is no semblance of team organization within the company. The ones working on Musk's Twitter Blue subscription, have been working 20 hours a day. Meanwhile, the other employees that do not fall under that category, are just sitting around doing nothing.

An employee expressed that there are no priorities, no chain of command, no organization chart, and they won't even know who the team manager is. They would even find out about policies through Musk's tweets, and not from the Tesla CEO directly.

When Musk announced that any form of impersonation on the platform will result in a ban via Twitter, it was the first time employees heard about it. The policy team just discussed how they would implement the ban, without any directions from the boss himself.

As for the workers' health benefits, there is still a cloud of uncertainty around it. The open-enrollment period has already begun, yet there is no news in the human resources system. Employees asked about the benefits in Slack, but management did not provide any answers to their questions.

Chaos on Twitter

Elon Musk is known for his unapologetic attitude toward tweeting. Lately, that has been more of a bad thing than good, as he antagonizes people who disagree with him. As of late, he has had arguments with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and "The Hulk" actor Mark Ruffalo. The congresswoman pointed out the absurdity of "free speech" costing $8, and Elon was quick to reply.

As mentioned in Yahoo, Musk stated: "Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8." He then added a reply encircling the $58 price tag on AOC's merchandise. Ruffalo stepped in and quoted AOC's tweet, and told Elon Musk to get off Twitter.

The actor suggested that Musk should hand Twitter to someone who does it for a job, and that he was destroying his credibility. The SpaceX CEO replied by saying that not everything AOC says is 100% accurate.

On top of that, he stated that accounts that are impersonating we be banned with no warning, due to the rolling out of widespread verification. He has already banned @kathygriffin for impersonating him, saying that she can have it back for $8. He even posted a tweet with a shirt that says his response to AOC.
