"I am vengeance! I am the night! I am BATMAN!"
Whether you've heard this line said in the "Batman: The Animated Series" in the 1990s or the beloved Arkham video game series, many know that Kevin Conroy gave life and is the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman in animated media.
However, much like Batman, Conroy is only human and is prone to illness, which is what led to his passing.
Diane Pershing, the voice of Poison Ivy in the "Batman: The Animated Series," recently revealed on a Facebook post that Conroy had passed away on Nov. 10 from cancer.
Warner Bros. Discovery also confirmed Pershing's revelation with a statement regarding the actor's death, as spotted on the r/DC_Cinematic subreddit.
Kevin Conroy Death Specifics
Warner Bros. Discovery mentioned in their statement that Conroy died at the age of 66 on Nov. 10 after "a short battle with cancer." Although it isn't clear how long Conroy had been battling cancer, Pershing's Facebook post said that he had been ill for a while.
This statement means that Conroy had been battling cancer for quite some time, but he still managed to put in a lot of time to attend conventions and meet his fans.
Pershing and Warner Bros. Discovery didn't reveal what kind of cancer Conroy was fighting before it took his life.
Conroy is survived by his husband Vaughn C. Williams, his sister Trisha, and his brother, Tom.
Pershing isn't the only co-worker affected by Conroy's passing. Tara Strong, the voice of Harley Quinn since "The New Batman Advantures" animated series, also expressed her grief for Conroy's passing on Twitter.

Strong said that she doesn't have the words to better express her grief and that her heart is broken by his death.
"There will never be another. He IS Batman," Strong added.
Mark Hamill, popularly known for his role as Luke Skywalker and the definitive voice of the Joker since "Batman: The Animated Series," said that Conroy was one of his favorite people on the planet and that he loved him like a brother.
"[Conroy] truly cared for the people around him - his decency shone through everything he did," Hamill said. "Every time I saw him or spoke with him, my spirits were elevated."
Andrea Romano, who was responsible for casting Conroy as Batman in "Batman: The Animated Series," said that he was a dear friend and an actor she had the pleasure of casting and directing.
Conroy's Works Throughout Time
Conroy is widely considered by many as the definitive voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman. He started giving his voice to the character in "Batman: The Animated Series", and has been the longest-serving voice actor of the Batman series, per Pinkvilla.
Conroy's voice acting isn't limited to animated media, with him voicing Batman in several video games, such as the Injustice games the much-beloved Arkham series, and more recently, Warner Bros. Interactive's MultiVersus.
He also voiced other characters in other Batman animated series. According to IMDb, he voiced Bruce's father, Thomas, in "Batman vs. Robin," the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh in "Batman: The Brave and the Bold," and John Grayson in "The Batman" TV series.
He also portrayed an evil Batman in live-action in the "Batwoman," "The Flash," and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" TV series.
