Now that the holiday season is approaching, you will probably spend more time at home with your family. Aside from engaging in long conversations, perhaps one of the best things to do is to sit down in the entertainment room and watch a family-friendly show or movie.

1. 'Spirited'

"Spirited," a 2022 American Christmas-themed musical comedy film, is a perfect holiday movie, according to MacRumors. It is directed by Sean Anders, while it was written and produced by Anders and John Morris. The movie features actors Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds. Octavia Spencer, Sunita Mani, Marlow Barkley, Patrick Page, and Tracy Morgan are also part of the film.

The movie is a modern retelling of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol. In the film, several Christmas ghosts visit miser Reynolds, who is the movie's Scrooge. The film was released in select theaters on November 11, while it was released for streaming on Apple TV+ on November 18.

2. 'Ted Lasso'

"Ted Lasso" is an American sports comedy-drama television series. Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, Bill Lawrence, and Joe Kelly developed the series. The series is centered on Ted Lasso, an American college football coach.

Lasso is hired to coach an English soccer team because its owner wants to spite her ex-husband. With his folksy, optimistic demeanor, he tried to win over the skeptical English market while dealing with his inexperience in the sport.

On August 14, 2020, the first season of 10 episodes premiered on Apple TV+. On July 23, 2021, the second season of 12 episodes began streaming. In October 2020, it was renewed for season three.

3. 'Schmigadoon!'

"Schmigadoon!" is an American musical comedy television series. It stars Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key as an on-the-rocks couple. Cinco Paul together with Ken Daurio created the series.

All songs were written by Paul, who also serves as showrunner. Barry Sonnenfeld directed the series, while Christopher Gattelli is behind the choreography.

4. 'Luck'

"Luck" is a 2022 computer-animated fantasy comedy film. It is directed by Peggy Holmes, and co-directed by Javier Abad. It follows the story of Sam Greenfield (voiced by Eva Noblezada).

Sam is a hopelessly unlucky individual. But her life is forever changed when she gets into the mythical Land of Luck. To correct the constant curse of bad luck in her life, Sam must join forces with the magical inhabitants of Luck, according to Digital Trends.

5. 'Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth'

"Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth" is an animated adaptation of the children's book having the same name. It follows the story of Finn (voiced by Jacob Tremblay). He is a curious kid. He learns about the wonders of living on planet Earth from an inspiring museum exhibit.

Moreover, he also learns from the inspiring messages of his mother (Ruth Negga) and his father (Chris O' Dowd). The show is packed with impressive visuals. While it is an ideal show for a younger audience, it's also captivating enough for the whole family.
