Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Suspends Dr Disrespect’s Account After Being Disrespectful in Proximity Chat

The Call of Duty (CoD) account of popular streamer Guy "Dr Disrespect" Breahm was suspended for a week after his disrespectful behavior in the proximity chat. The streamer largely formed his brand by playing and trashing CoD.

If you had viewed his streams, you would know that Dr Disrespect can be considered the ultimate embodiment of bro-hard culture. This means that swearing and trash-talking are a huge part of his brand and appeal.

Dr Disrespect Exhibits Toxic Behavior in Proximity Chat

But despite his brand and appeal, it is not a license to exhibit toxic behavior to others. According to PC Gamer, he was suspended after calling someone an insulting and misogynistic term.

Calling someone an insulting and misogynistic term, specifically derogatory comments based on gender identity, is against CoD's new code of conduct. Before playing the game, players must now agree to this document.

During his stream on November 24, Dr Disrespect said he is using an alternate account to play. He said he wasn't going to say anything about the ban because he didn't care about it.

While his viewers ask him for some clarity on why his account was suspended, he keeps on saying how much he doesn't care about the ban several more times.

However, according to News.co.au, Dr Disrespect called the decision of the game publisher "insane." The streamer said that he's heard way worse in proximity chat.

He also added that in the incident that led to his ban, both he and the other players in the game were trash-talking.

With that being said, TheGamer pointed out that it's unlikely that Dr Disrespect knows whether or not other players were banned just like him. It is highly possible that he's not the only one suspended.

Still, according to him, his suspension only shows that CoD publisher Activision is "out of touch."

Dr Disrespect is Also Banned on Another Streaming Platform

Proximity chat is a feature in Warzone 2.0 and in many games. The feature allows players to hear the microphone activity of those players who are close by.

With proximity chat, when the player is closer to another, they will have a higher volume of mic activity. With this, players will gain an edge by listening to the conversation.

Dr Disrespect may have been banned for his behavior on the proximity chat, but given the streamer's records of controversy and foul language towards other players, it is somewhat expected.

According to the streamer, he was "probably" banned from the game for spamming voice chat. But as mentioned earlier, PC Gamer pointed out that he was suspended for calling someone an insulting and misogynistic term.

Dr Disrespect has a long history of controversy. He has been permanently banned from Twitch for reasons unknown until now. Now, his current streams are taking place on YouTube. Previously, Twitch also temporarily suspend his channel for live streaming from a bathroom at an event in LA.

The streamer's connection to the CoD is not just streaming, according to PC Gamer. It also includes a stint at Sledgehammer Games in the early 2010s. During that time, he reportedly worked as a level designer on Advanced Warfare.
