Instafest App Allows Users to Create Their Own Spotify Festival Lineup

If you're on Twitter or Facebook or basically any form of social media, perhaps you've seen people posting their own custom music festival lineup which is based on their most-played artist on Spotify.

Thanks to a new app called Instafest you can create a music festival poster for yourself based on your Spotify listening habits.

But Instafest cannot be found on the Spotify app itself. Instead, it is a third-party app hooked into your Spotify data, as per CNET. It automatically creates a fantasy festival lineup that features artists you've been listening to.

Instafest Generates Festival Lineup Based on Your Listening Habits

Instafest is a free web app created by developer Anshay Saboo. It's pretty simple to use. You must be signed up with your Spotify account. The third-party app will generate a poster based on your listening habit.

You have the option to customize the poster based on time intervals, like the last four weeks, last six months, and all time.

You also have the option to choose different styles of posters. Options include Malibu Sunrise, LA Twilight, and Mojave Dusk.

Once the poster is generated, you can rename your music festival. You can also hide/show your username, and hide/show your Basic Score. In case you want to remove support to Instafest, you can follow the guide to revoke access.

According to TechCrunch, Saboo said that he got the idea of the app while thinking about the possible Coachella's lineup if he could pick the artists.

Currently, the developer is already working on adding support for more platforms. The app already allows you to generate a festival poster using your listening history. According to the developer, support for Apple Music support is in the works.

Saboo said that he also wants to add support for music streaming services such as YouTube Music, Deezer, and Amazon Music. However, he cautioned that it might not happen in the near future since not every platform's APIs are as friendly as those of Spotify.
