The highly anticipated third season of the hit series "The Mandalorian" is set to debut on Disney Plus next year, but it will come a bit later than expected.
On Thursday, Disney announced that the series is set to return for its third season on March 1, following the end of the "Star Wars" show "Andor" last week, CNet writes.
Some Details About The New Season Remain Secret
It can be remembered that the second season of the show premiered in October 2020, and it has been some time since the show released new episodes.
The Verge writes that this is why season 3 of "The Mandalorian'' is much-awaited by fans as it comes around at a time when the "Star Wars" universe series "Andor" just wrapped up.
At the moment, there is not much known about the new season, but a previously released trailer teased what might transpire for the Mandalorian people as Mando and Bo-Katan Kryze fight over leadership.
The teaser showed the brewing conflict between the two in what appears to be a confrontation between Mando and Kryze on a throne, Gizmodo details.
It will also show the reunited pair of Djarin and Grogu traveling to Mandalore, the home planet of the Mandalorians, where the true owner of the Dark Saber and ruler of Mandalore will presumably be revealed.
According to IGN, Disney premiered the said trailer for season three of "The Mandalorian" at the D23 convention earlier this year.
"The Mandalorian" received positive reviews when it first premiered, in contrast to how the most recent "Star Wars" movies have been received.
With a different creative team from the movies, director Jon Favreau and "Star Wars" series veteran Dave Filoni have committed to doing a better job at delivering a better experience for the fans.

Big Names Are Joining And Leaving 'The Mandalorian' For Its Third Season
The third season will see the return of Carl Weathers, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Omid Abtahi, and Amy Sedaris in the cast, Collider says.
However, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Christopher Lloyd is also joining the series cast for the newest season of "The Mandalorian."
Character details about what role he will play remain a mystery, but producers described it as a guest-starring role.
"The Mandalorian" has a record of bringing in other franchise's legendary characters like how it did when it had Michael Biehn from "The Terminator" in season two.
It is notable that the series is also starring stars like Pedro Pascal, who plays a bounty hunter that gets into a conflict with Grogu, the leader of the alien race.
However, while big names join and return for the third season of the "Star Wars" universe series, Giancarlo Esposito who plays Moff Gideon is reportedly not returning, Esquire reports.
With that said, anything could happen to the series storyline and its production based on the changes happening that "The Mandalorian" can be an entirely different show.
