There will be no more classes featuring Kanye West on Peloton's on-demand library as the fitness platform decided to fully remove all classes featuring the artist.
Kanye West, legally known as Ye, was involved in a controversy following his antisemitic post. In October, Peloton started telling its members that West's music would no longer be included in new classes.
However, the fitness platform said that previously filmed classes still remain. Now, it seems that the company decided to entirely scrub West's music from the platform.
Classes Featuring Kanye West Started to Disappear from Peloton
According to The Verge, the classes featuring Wests first began disappearing on December 6. Likewise, the news outlet also confirmed that no result was shown on the Peloton Row review unit or on Peloton's desktop site when users searched for "Kanye West" or "Ye."
The removal of classes featuring West's music affected various activities, including cycling, tread, bootcamp, yoga, and strength.
As of writing, it is unclear if the classes have been deleted entirely or are just no longer searchable by users. According to The Verge, they reached out to Peloton for comment but they did not immediately receive a response.
Peloton joins the many companies that have decided to cut ties with Ye. But music streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music continue to host his music.
The situation illustrates how music can affect a connected fitness service. West is a popular artist in hip-hop fitness playlists.
Before the removal of classes, CNN reported that Peloton had roughly 1,800 classes featuring West in its library.
It seems that Peloton will be just fine removing around 2,000 classes, but the same move can't be said for every other connected fitness platform.
As of writing, West's music still appears in Apple Fitness Plus playlists on Apple Music.

Peloton Conducts Purging of Classes Featuring Kanye West
According to Pelo Buddy, a fan website that doesn't have official ties with Peloton, on the morning of December 9, Peloton had another purge of classes related to West songs.
The purge removed some of the remaining classes that were still left with West's songs on the platform.
Previously, Peloton had performed a fairly significant class purge overnight. The initial purge resulted in more than 500 classes being removed from the on-demand library.
At the time when the classes were removed, it was unclear what Peloton's action was related to, since some classes were removed with no immediately identifiable pattern.
Eventually, some members made speculations that the initial purge was related to Kanye West's music.
After the first overnight purge, users could still search classes featuring West's songs and see over 1,000 class results. When doing the search, he also showed up as a musical artist.
However, on the afternoon of December 9, there seems to be a second purge as West no longer shows up as an artist on the search result, the way other artists do.
Pelo Buddy said that Peloton did not pre-announce the removal of classes featuring West's songs. Likewise, the fitness platform did not make any statement as to what or why the removal took place.
