Resident Evil Village Gets a VR Mode with Sony's PSVR2 Release

As if Resident Evil Village is not terrifying enough, it will soon be available in VR mode. Players can purchase the game on the same day Sony's new Playstation VR 2 is released in February. If you already have the game, you can just update it for free.

Resident Evil Village on VR

You can play the entire campaign using the new PSVR2 and its new Sense controllers, taking the gameplay to a whole new level. You'll be able to feel the vibration, recoil, and resistance while you interact within the game, as mentioned in The Verge.

According to Kanda Tsuyoshi, the game will have vivid graphics in a 4K HDR display with 2000 by 2040 per eye. The eye-tracking feature will increase the gamer's perception, making the game more realistic than ever.

With its 3D audio, players are able to get a sense of every sound in their surroundings from every corner, which is a plus for horror game enthusiasts who want to be as immersed in the game as possible.

The new Sense controllers will not only provide sensations for every interaction but also enables intuitive movements. Players can load and insert a new clip into the gun they're holding or slash and stab using melee weapons, as mentioned in Kanda's blog.

The New PSVR2

The new Playstation VR 2 features OLED displays that can deliver up to 120 frames per second. With its new visuals, it's four times better than the previous PlayStation VR. It also has intelligent eye tracking which simulates heightened responses from the player's avatars.

Players will be able to have a more realistic experience with the game's environment, seeing as the PSVR2 comes with a 110-degree field of view. The Fresnel lens is also adjustable to the player's liking, so they can match their eye position and perceive the onscreen image better.

The audio dynamics will aid players with hearing what's in the game's surroundings better. They will be able to sense which direction each sound is coming from, whether it's footsteps, gunfire, or even a whisper.

The headset feedback also adds to the game experience, as it features responsive headset vibrations. Players will be able to feel when their vehicles speed up or when an arrow flies by their head, according to PlayStation.

The adaptive triggers will also allow players to have a feel of what they're holding in the game. They'll be able to sense the tension in a bowstring as they draw or the recoil of a firearm as they shoot.

The new Sense controllers are also sensitive to touch, so much so that they can detect your finger placements even if you're not pressing a button. Of course, players will not be limited to Resident Evil Village. There are more games to look forward to.

There will be future releases of PSVR2-compatible games like Horizon Call of the Mountain, No Man's Sky, Demeo, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, and Firewall Ultra. However, the VR set costing $549.99 and the mentioned games are only available for the PlayStation 5.

Be sure to preorder them now so you can try it out as soon as it's released.
