7 Tech Gadgets for Forgetful People

It's common for people to forget things, whether it's about where you put your phone last or if you unplugged your electronics before you leave. However, some people experience these bouts of forgetfulness more often. Here are a couple of devices to help with that.

1. Auto Shut-Off Safety Outlet

Have you ever been in the middle of the road and started worrying about a plugged electronic device? When you're in a rush, you often overlook things like your curling iron or chargers still plugged in. Here's a suggestion by Buzzfeed that comes in handy.

The Auto Shut-Off Safety Outlet will let you leave your house worry-free. It has a fixed 30-minute timer that will automatically cut off power once the time is up. Even if you might've forgotten to unplug your device, you won't have to drive back home and check.

2. Smart Water Bottle

Water is one of the most important things we need to drink. On a long and busy day, it's easy to forget to have a sip every once in a while. There's a device just for you if that's the case, wherein the bottle would light up to remind you to drink your water.

3. MyQ Garage Door Controller

Accidentally leaving your garage door open gives burglars the opportunity to enter your home without breaking a sweat. This device will be especially helpful if you live alone or there won't be anyone home while you're out.

The garage door controller will check if you left your garage door open and close it. You can connect it to the Wi-Fi which gives you the ability to close the garage door remotely, as suggested by Thrillist.

4. Nest

The thermostat is one of the main culprits when it comes to high utility bills. Imagine if you went on vacation and you left it on. You won't be home for days if not weeks, and no one else has the keys to your house to take care of it.

Nest will ensure that you can control your thermostat wherever you are using the Wi-Fi. It even turns to an energy-efficient temperature when you leave the premises. Pretty useful especially if you're trying to save on bills.

5. Davek Alert Umbrella

If you've gone through your 20s, you've probably lost at least one umbrella. It's just one of those things that you forget you're carrying with you. The Davek Alert Umbrella is smart enough to ping you when you stray 30 feet away from it via Bluetooth.

It's a different situation when you leave it on public transportation as opposed to leaving it at work, of course. On the bright side, it comes with an app that gives you the daily weather as well, so you won't have to risk leaving your umbrella when you don't need it anyway.

6. Tile

There are a lot of items that we carry with us every day like our phones, wallet, and keys. Despite these items being important, we still often forget where we last placed them. Tile is a small tracker you can attach to your items so you can easily track them.

If you're within range, you can get it to play a 90-decibel sound via Bluetooth. If you're too far from the item, you can check its location using its app. It also helps that Tile is water-resistant.

7. Instant Pot

Imagine this. You were told to take the chicken out of the freezer an hour ago but you forgot. The person who tasked you with letting the chicken thaw is home and you just remembered now what you should've done. A scary scenario indeed.

Maybe you should get yourself an Instant Pot. Not only can it cook for you, but it also thaws your meats after taking them straight out of the freezer. It'll save you from a lengthy nagging and you won't have to worry about thawing meat again.
