Verizon Moto X now available for $149.99 from Amazon

Amazon is currently offering the Verizon Moto X for $149.99, a nice savings over the $199.99 Verizon is charging online and in its retail stores for the new smartphone.

The Moto X is the first smartphone that Motorola and Google worked on together after Google acquired the smartphone maker last year. The handset's standout feature can be found in its ability to use a convenient tool called Touchless Control. The Moto X has special sensors inside that are always on, which allows users to speak commands to the smartphone even while it's asleep. The handset's special sensors and software allow it to recognize its owner's voice and the device will automatically turn on and perform the task you've asked. Another popular feature is the ability to launch its camera application even while the handset is off. A user needs to simply flick their wrist and the Moto X will automatically launch its camera, allowing you to capture pictures quickly.

A new deal from Amazon is offering the Verizon Moto X for $149.99 when signing a new 2-year contract. This is a better price than the $199.99 Verizon is currently charging online and in its retail stores.

The Verizon Moto X features a 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED HD display and is powered by a custom dual-core 1.7Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Motorola's X8 Computing System and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit (GPU). The smartphone ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and is expected to receive an update to Android 4.3 in the near future. The handset includes 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM.

It is packing a 10-megapixel rear camera with the ability to record 1080p video and also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. When it comes to connectivity, the Moto X includes a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. Motorola has included a 2,200 mAh battery that offers excellent battery life and the smartphone will be available in a choice of woven black or woven white.

You can pick up the Verizon Moto X from Amazon for $149.99 when signing a new 2-year contract. The retailer is also throwing in free two-day shipping.
