Samsung is planning to expand the availability of the Camera Assistant app. According to a post made by a moderator on the company's community forum for South Korea, the brand will introduce the app to more devices.
In addition, the tech company is likely to expand this lineup of camera-assisted apps in the Galaxy devices soon. The brand also dropped an announcement about the expansion schedule.
Camera Assistant App Lets You Have Finer Control Over the Camera's Settings
Camera Assistant was launched in October of this year. It is initially made available in beta as a Good Lock module for the Galaxy S22 series.
The app allows you to customize the settings of your phone's camera at a deeper level than what you can do with the stock camera app, as per Sam Mobile.
This means that with the app, you have finer control over the camera's settings compared to the stock camera app.
With Camera Assistant, you can turn off Auto HDR, prioritize faster shutter speeds, disable Auto lens switching, and more.
It is not usual for an Android smartphone manufacturer to provide such camera settings to the end user. Therefore, the availability of this feature is a welcome move from Samsung.
Now, the Korean giant has confirmed that once Camera Assistant exits beta, its availability will expand to other Galaxy devices.
According to the Samsung community moderator on the company's South Korean forums, after the beta stage, the new supported models in Camera Assistant would be made.
However, currently, it is unclear when the app will exit beta. It is known that the company beta test Good Lock modules for several months.
According to Android Police, their stable release usually coincides with the launch of a flagship product.
Therefore, it is highly possible that Camera Assistant's stable build will be released around the Galaxy S23 series launch. This is expected to happen in a couple of months from now.

Users Have Been Asking Samsung to Expand the Availability of the Camera Assistant App
Since its launch, the Camera Assistant app has been available only for the Galaxy S22 series and users have been asking Samsung to expand its availability to other devices.
The company seems to have considered the users' requests. But currently, there is no list of devices for which the app will be available. Likewise, there is no specific launch timeline.
Samsung updated Camera Assistant last month with the ability for the app's icon to adapt to the color of the phone's wallpaper. This is enabled by Android 13's dynamic icon feature.
Samsung also made the updated Expert RAW app available recently. This enables users to capture bright photos of stars, constellations, and dark skies.
According to reports, Samsung could possibly make the Camera Assistant app compatible with the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. This is because these phones share the same camera specs as the S22 series.
While waiting for the Camera Assistant app to roll out to other Galaxy devices, you can download Camera Assistant from the Galaxy Store on your S22 phone in order to enjoy greater control over the phone's cameras.
Since Camera Assistant is a standalone application, it does not require the main Good Lock app to be installed on your phone.
