CES 2023: LG’s OLED TVs Promise Increased Brightness

In a couple of days, we would again witness the biggest tech event of the year, CES 2023. But while there are still a few days left before the event kick-off, tech companies have already started teasing some of their latest products that they will launch at the event.

LG already announced a few details about its new OLED television. In a press release, the company already announced that it would showcase its latest Evo series TVs at CES 2023.

If your TV set is in a well-lit room, you'll appreciate LG's new models that now include a per-pixel Brightness Booster Max feature. According to Engadget, certain G3 series TVs promise an increased brightness of up to 70 percent.

LG's 3 series Will Get Gen6 Image Processor

According to CNET, the major difference between current LG OLED TVs and the new models is the higher brightness on the G3.

The new G3 55-, 65- and 77-inch models are equipped with new light control architecture and light-boosting algorithms.

In addition to G3, Tech Hive reported that the "3" series will be the brighter model. It includes the B3, an entry-level 4K with LG's A7, Gen6 image processor and is available in 55-, 65-, and 77-inch sizes.

There's also the C3 Evo, a 4K model with LG's A9, Gen6 image processor and is available in 42-, 48-, 55-, 65-, 77-, and 83-inch sizes.

Aside from B3, C3, and G3 models, LG will also bring two 8K OLEDs, the 77-inch Z3 Evo Gallery, and the 88-inch Z3 Signature. Powered by LG's A9, Gen6 image processor, the Z3 model is another must-have for TV enthusiasts.

Thanks to Gen6 image processor, the new Z3, G3, and C3 OLED Evo series TVs will have brighter displays, greater color accuracy, and advanced AI capabilities.

The processor unlocks AI-assisted Deep Learning tech such as AI Picture Pro and AI Sound Pro. With this, the TV models offer improved upscaling, and enhanced dynamic tone mapping plus virtual 9.1.2 surround sound.

LG Makes Eco-Friendly Enhancements to its 2023 OLED TVs

In addition to its innovative approach, LG also started a sustainability initiative. The company made some eco-friendly improvements to its 2023 OLED TV lineup.

LG promised a more environment-conscious cycle for its 2023 OLED TV lineup from production to disposal.

According to XDA, LG's 2023 TVs will utilize recycled plastics for several components, Moreover, they will come with eco-packaging created using recyclable materials and single-color printing.

In addition, LG will also introduce an updated user experience with the latest version of its in-house TV operating system, the WebOS.

You can expect a new home screen with various personalization options plus new "Quick Cards" to easily access your favorite content.

The models will also offer recommendations based on viewing history. According to LG, the update will also bring a new AI Concierge.

The company's 2023 OLED TV lineup will also offer a host of HDMI 2.1a's Quick Media Switching VRR (QMS-VRR). It's a variable refresh rate that can eliminate the momentary black screen when you switch between HDMI inputs.

The company did not announce the prices of its 2023 OLED TV lineup although we can expect the G3 and Z3 to cost more than the C3.
