GE just unveiled its $999 Profile Smart Mixer which comes with a digital scale and voice controls. Is it expensive? Yes, but it's definitely worth it.
The company is currently showing off the Profile Smart Mixer at CES 2023. The mixer has all the features that you can find in a typical stand mixer.
However, what's new is it is equipped with a digital scale and voice controls for you to streamline your bakes.
What Are the Features of the GE Profile Smart Mixer?
It is particularly tedious to weigh out all of your ingredients one by one in separate bowls and containers. With Profile Smart Mixer, this problem is solved.
You'll find the scale integrated into the base of the mixer. There's a button on top that controls the tare function.
Thus, you can just put your ingredients straight into the bowl without needing to measure each item separately in its own container.
But if you want to, you could remove the 7-quart bowl and then, weigh the ingredients in a different vessel.
You'll get an even smarter mixer once you use the companion SmartHQ app. The app can guide you through specific recipes, step-by-step.
Moreover, the app also allows you to take advantage of GE's "Auto Sense." According to Engadget, this can detect subtle changes in texture in order to prevent over or under-mixing.
For now, the app has a relatively small selection of recipes. But the recipes are useful for novice bakers or people who are intimidated by a more complicated recipe. According to the company, they will regularly refresh the app with new content.
Another handy feature is the voice controls, which are compatible with Google and Amazon's smart speakers. Therefore, you can start and stop mixing, or change up the speed of mixing using just your voice.
In addition, the mixer speed goes up to 11, which, according to GE, is closer to the speed of a blender than a typical stand mixer. This means it offers more flexibility with certain recipes.

GE Profile Smart Mixer Was Hailed CES Innovation Awards Honoree
GE Profile Smart Mixer was named a CES Innovations Awards Honoree in the Home Appliance category.
According to a press release from GE, the Profile Smart Mixer is now known in the baking industry for its cutting-edge technology. With this, owners now have the confidence to mix, whip, cream and emulsify to perfection every time.
The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) is the one behind CES Innovation Awards program.
It honors outstanding design and engineering within the 28 consumer technology product categories. The competition is judged by an elite panel of industry expert judges.
Some of the judges come from the media, while some are designers, engineers, and more.
The judges reviewed submissions based on innovation, engineering and functionality, aesthetics, and design.
For this year's CES Innovation Awards program, the organizer received a high number of over 2,100 submissions.
According to Andre Zdanow, executive director of small appliances for GE Appliances, being one of the 2023 Innovation Award honorees is a remarkable recognition.
In addition, he said that they are excited to be in Las Vegas to introduce the Profile Smart Mixer to the public.
