Archos has announced a new series of Platinum tablets that bring HD displays, quad-core processors, up to 2GB of RAM and more to the market, starting at $200.
Archos is launching three high-quality and fully loaded tablets designed to compete with the current crop of high-end tablets at a fraction of the cost. The new Platinum series includes three tablets: the Archos 97b Platinum HD, Archos 101 Platinum, and Archos 80b Platinum.

Each Platinum tablet is equipped with an impressive extra high-resolution IPS screen that brings amazing image quality and extra wide viewing angles. This latest generation LCD delivers excellent screen sharpness and vivid colors with a screen resolution that allows you to see every detail of a picture. Tablet enthusiasts will be able to choose from three screen sizes, including 8-inch (featuring a 1024 x 768 display), 9.7-inch (featuring an extra high-res 2048 x 1536 display) and 10.1-inch (featuring a 1280x 800 HD screen).
The Archos 80b Platinum features an 8-inch 1024 x 768 IPS display, is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor, has 1GB of RAM, and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It includes 8GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot for additional memory. In terms of wireless connectivity, it is using Dual-band Wi-Fi for increased speed and Bluetooth. It is packing a 2-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front facing-camera for video chat. It will be available later this month for $199.99.
The Archos 101 Platinum features a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display, is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor, has 2GB of RAM, and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It includes 8GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot to increase the storage capacity. In terms of wireless connectivity it is using Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. It is packing a 2-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front facing camera. It will go on sale later this month for $299.99
The Archos 97b Platinum HD features a 9.7-inch 2048 x 1536 Full HD display, is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, has 2GB of RAM, and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It comes with 8GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot for additional memory. Its wireless capabilities include Dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It's packing a 2-megapixel-rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It will go on sale later this month for $269.99.
