Verizon Motorola DROID MAXX available for $199.99 for new customers and upgrades

Amazon is now offering the Verizon Motorola DROID MAXX for $199.99 for new customers and upgrades. This is the lowest price the normally $299.99 smartphone has been available for.

The Motorola DROID MAXX is Verizon's current flagship DROID smartphone. The carrier and Motorola introduced the handset in late August and it brings everything you want and expect from the DROID MAXX series. The MAXX name implies power and long battery life and Motorola has delivered. The DROID MAXX uses Motorola's new X8 Mobile Computing System, which features a 1.7GHz dual-core processor with the added benefit of a quad-core graphics processing unit (GPU). The company has been able to give the thin handset extremely long long battery life - you'll get up 48 hours to use on a single charge.

Verizon is currently charging $299.99 when creating a new line and signing a new 2-year contract with the carrier for the DROID MAXX. Amazon is undercutting Verizon's offer by selling the DROID MAXX for $199.99 when signing a new contract and is also opening up the handset to current customers looking to upgrade. New and current Verizon customers can get the handset for the same $199.99 price.

The DROID MAXX features a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It is powered by Motorola's X8 Mobile Computing System, which uses a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, a quad-core graphics processing unit (GPU), and 2GB of RAM to ensure a snappy user experience.

It has 32GB of internal storage, a 10-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD recording, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. Its wireless connectivity options include a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, and wireless charging capabilities out of the box - no need to purchase an extra back cover to gain this feature (you will need to use a compatible charging pad, however).

The DROID MAXX also comes with the same innovative features that the new Moto X has to offer. The smartphone can be controlled without ever touching it or waking it from sleep by simply speaking to it. The DROID MAXX has the same sensors and software as the Moto X, which allows the smartphone to learn your voice and take commands from you while its display is off and performs them accordingly. It's a groundbreaking feature that was developed by Motorola and its new parent company, Google.

You can order the Verizon Motorola DROID MAXX for $199.99 when signing a new 2-year contract. If you're already a Verizon customer and would like to upgrade, you'll get it for the same low price (something not very common). Amazon is also throwing in free two-day shipping with the order.
