Resident Evil 4 Remake Might Include Antagonist Albert Wesker

2023 is an abundant year for remakes of both games as well as films and shows adapted from games. This year, players will also be getting a remake of Resident Evil 4, and they might just find the brilliantly written villain, Albert Wesker.

Keyword Being 'Might'

It's been a long time since the original game was released in 2005. Still, it holds up as one of the greatest video games. After all, it's the game where Ada Wong became a playable character all while featuring Leon S. Kennedy as well.

Wesker was not in the original game, but if you look at the IMDb page of the game, it says that the character will be voiced by Connor Fogarty, who has already voiced Wesker when he appeared in Dead by Daylight.

However, this is still not considered a confirmation. According to Comic Book, IMDb cast lists have been wrong before, so it's better to wait for an announcement from Capcom or Connor Fogarty himself.

What Would Wesker's Story be Like?

In the bonus game that Capcom added called Separate Ways. Ada Wong appeared to be working for Albert Wesker. It was a surprise for some since she was considered to be one of the good guys, so it might make for good content to explain her and Wesker's backstory.

If he does appear, it could mean a significant change in the game since he is regarded as one of the most important characters in the franchise. They could also just add the Separate Ways narrative into the Resident Evil 4 remake.

It's important to know Wesker's background if he will appear in the game. Other than being a major antagonist, the game's writers also wrote a compelling Terminator-looking villain for the Resident Evil franchise.

For starters, Wesker is a scientist with questionable boundaries for the sake of advancement and a typical corrupt corporate cog. He was a virologist who was subjected to the experiments of Dr. Oswell. They both wanted a grasp of power, which made them both dangerous.

Albert Wesker was already working for Umbrella when he joined the United States Army which led him to S.T.A.R.S., which is a term you will recognize if you played the first Resident Evil game in the franchise, as mentioned by Screen Rant.

In Resident Evil Code: Veronica, he appeared as a secondary villain made stronger by the viruses he injected into himself. He then mutates as the game progresses, turning him into an almost unrecognizable monster if not for his signature slicked-back hair.

Resident Evil 5 was the end of the road for Wesker (or maybe not) as he appeared as the main antagonist. He did his usual evil planning but this time, working with TRICELL. His fight with Chris Redfield finally put an end to his villainy, as he fell into the crater of a volcano.

If he doesn't appear in the game remake, you can still get a dose of the antagonist in the film remake. Although be warned, Resident Evil fans aren't exactly happy about the movie, saying that it was overhyped and did not meet their expectations at all.
