The Galaxy S23 series from Samsung could be unveiled in the first week of February, and the lineup should include a base, Plus, and Ultra model.
Now that rumored prices for the Galaxy S23 range in South Korea have leaked, it appears that the trio of flagship phones will cost more than the Galaxy S22 did when it first debuted.
Rumors Reveal Possible Price Ranges For The 2023 Flagship Series
According to Twitter user @OreXda, the base model of the Galaxy S23 will cost 1,199,000 won ($935), the Plus edition will cost 1,397,000 won ($1,098), and the top-tier Ultra version would cost 1,599,400 won ($1,257).
For reference, the Samsung Galaxy S22 in the same nation cost 999,900 won ($803), the Galaxy S22 Plus cost 1,199,000 won ($963), and the Galaxy S22 Ultra was released for 1,452,000 won ($1,168).
However, according to a report by Tech Radar regarding the leak, with this, customers are now looking at a price jump of about 10 to 20%.
The regular Galaxy S23 costs about $955 / £790 / AU$1,390 at the current exchange rate, compared to the Galaxy S22's starting price of $799 / £769 / AU$1,249.
However, given the volatility of the currency and stock markets, critics cannot pay too much attention to those equal values other than as general guidelines.
This report supports a claim that the Galaxy S23 handsets would cost higher than their Galaxy S22 rivals.
However, it is important to note that while the pandemic's consequences are still being felt by manufacturers, inflation is also driving up prices around the world.
Given these and other considerations, it won't come as much of a surprise if the Galaxy S23 phones start off more expensive than the 2022 models they're replacing.
As handset manufacturers struggle with prices that are rising across the industry, customers might see this pattern continue throughout the rest of the year.
This new purported information may be true, since Samsung has not yet made these details public, but analysts are hesitant to accept it at face value.
Unfortunately, this rumor's source (@OreXda) does not always seem to be trustworthy, according to Sam Mobile.
