Apple Might Launch New MacBook Pros Tomorrow, Rumors Say

According to Apple leaker Jon Prosser, tomorrow, January 17, Apple will publish a press statement on its website announcing its first product launch of 2023.

Rumors suggest that these could be the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro M2 versions mentioned last fall, however most people are unsure of the specifics.

The Details Are Sparse At The Moment

According to Mac Rumors, with new MacBook Pro and Mac mini models anticipated in the near future, the announcement might be one of many items.

The revised 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are expected to have the same design as the versions revealed in October 2021, with the M2 Pro and M2 Max CPUs providing solely improved performance.

The performance of new M2 CPUs is also predicted to benefit a redesigned Mac mini, but speculations say it will have the same design as the existing model.

The new M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, which have up to 12 CPU cores and 38 GPU cores in the Max, would be the focal point of these events.

According to Twitter user Wade Penner, who discovered an unpublished MacBook Pro in a Canadian wireless database with support for the 6GHz band of the latest WiFi standard, they might be the first to come with WiFi 6E.

For the time being, the filing can still be found on Canada's Radio Equipment List by entering "579C-A2779" in the "Certification Number" section.

Users should experience greater top speeds, lower latency, and less congestion on a congested local network as long as they have a compatible router, Engadget writes.

Additionally, users might not want to count on a Mac mini M2 or other modifications because there have not been any reports of other goods making their debut around the same time.

However, if the reports are true, this may be good news for anyone who has been delaying the purchase of a MacBook Pro in order to guarantee they get the most recent technology.

What We Know SO Far About The 2023 MacBook Pro

The incredibly potent M2 chip should be expected because Apple needs to make the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro competitive with the amazing M2 MacBook Air.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also asserted that the upcoming MacBook Pro 13-inch and M2 MacBook Air models will have the same 5nm advanced node processor.

The tech giant has also been increasing prices outside the US for some time now in response to increased production costs, with the most recent iPad and iPhone 14 lines reaching astronomical heights in 2022.

The starting prices for the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros are respectively $1,999/£1,899 and $2,499/£2,399, according to Creative Bloq.

Of course, only time will tell what's in store, and Apple may have completely different plans this time.

In October 2021, Apple completely redesigned the high-end MacBook Pro, adding extra ports, a notch, and other features. Macs frequently maintain the same design across generations.
