On Monday, Netflix updated its iOS app, giving the iPhone version of its platform a new user experience, 9to5 Mac notes.
New, fluid animations, such as parallax effects to shift objects as the user moves the phone, are present in the new interface.
Netflix Has Unveiled Improvements To Its iOS App
Now, customers will see a large card advertising a film or series available on the service when they launch the Netflix app on their iPhone.
The iPhone's accelerometer is used to make this card move with a parallax effect, but the redesign goes further than that.
No matter which section of the app users are browsing through, it is now much simpler to use search, navigate between profiles, or filter material by category.
The Coming Soon tab has also been revamped and is now "What's New," and when viewers tap on a movie or show, its art cover expands to show all the details about it.
The concept began development in 2022, according to former Netflix UI designer Janum Trivedi, who developed the new Netflix app interface.
"I've been leading a UI refresh to make Netflix feel more fluid, delightful, and polished. Today, all that work shipped," says Trivedi, according to The Tech Outlook.
Trivedi also claims that these are the only modifications brought about by the most recent Netflix app version:
New billboard layout responds as you move your device, with a subtle lighting effect
Beautiful wallpaper gradients that are created on-the-fly from the art
A new card transition that's fully interruptible/interactive
New launch/profile animations, haptics, and more
It is interesting to note that the former Netflix employee said the company is "giving it some love" for the Apple TV version of its app, thus it appears that Netflix will also soon have a new UI for tvOS.

Apple TV Still Does Not Have Netflix's Ad-Based Plan Support
Netflix last year unveiled a new ad-based plan in an effort to increase member numbers since this tier is a little less expensive than the others.
However, the company then disclosed that Apple TV users will not be able to use the new, less expensive plan, and the situation is still the same as of right now.
Despite this, the company has never provided an explanation for why Netflix's tvOS app does not support the new ad-based plan, 9to5 Mac reports.
Apple TV users may be required to sign up for the more expensive plans if they still want to watch Netflix on the device.
However, given the present situation in which Netflix may cancel the Basic plan without advertisements.
It is important to note that the Basic plan with commercials from Netflix is currently offered in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and South Korea.
Additionally, according to recent reports, Netflix has purchased the streaming rights to 18 new Tamil movies, Gadget 360 details.
With that, it is notable that the deal occurs as the streaming service prioritizes localized and more regional content for its app.
