Nintendo has reintroduced Game Vouchers for those who have Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions in North America.
Nintendo Life writes that Switch Online subscribers can buy two game vouchers for $100 USD or $133 CAD and use them to buy and play two digital games.
Players Have Up To Twelve Months To Redeem The Vouchers
Game Vouchers allow gamers to purchase a selection of digital versions of games at a discount, and Switch Online subscribers can get theirs through the My Nintendo Store dropdown.
This news was first revealed early on the Nintendo YouTube account, but it was shortly taken down and later confirmed on Twitter.
Nintendo states that each account may have up to eight Game Vouchers, which are usable for 12 months following the date of purchase.
As a result, vouchers may be used in segments rather than all at once, and only digital game versions may be redeemed for Game Vouchers, Engadget notes.
On the website, a voucher catalog lists all 71 of the titles that are offered, but as games are released, the company is expected to add more titles in the catalog.
In addition to saving money by purchasing the vouchers, the user will also receive 500 My Nintendo Gold Points at the moment of purchase, which might increase to 5% of the entire amount paid.
By bringing back the vouchers, Nintendo is making it plain that they want customers to sign up for Switch Online and then commit to purchasing numerous titles where they might have otherwise simply purchased one.
