A new payment system for content creators is being tested by TikTok, and publishing lengthier videos is a necessity.
With that, the "Creativity Program," a redesigned creator fund, is now available in beta, according to a TikTok announcement.
The Program Will Be Available To Eligible Creators Soon
The company's strategies for accelerating the US's sluggish growth are confirmed by the new fund, which is currently undergoing beta testing in the US, France, and Brazil.
According to TikTok, the Creativity Program is made to increase revenue and give authors access to more options.
The Verge says that the new program is currently only accessible by invitation, but it will eventually be made available to all qualified users, according to the company.
Users must be at least 18 years old, meet follower and video view requirements, and, most intriguingly, produce "high-quality, original videos that are longer than one minute" in order to be eligible for the program.
Some people might be surprised by the emphasis on longer videos as TikTok was the key social media brand that persuaded the others to embrace short-form video seriously.
However,TikTok has made it clear in multiple ways that livestreams and other long-form content will become more and more crucial for the site in the future.
Additionally, Tech Crunch writes that TikTok declined to provide specifics regarding the funding that company has allotted for the program because it is still in its early phases.

The Improvement Follows Several Creator Feedback
According to the company, the new initiative was designed in response to creator input on existing income options, such as the Creator Fund.
In 2020, the fund, which pays creators for viral videos, began operations with a $1 billion commitment spread over three years.
Creators have criticized its business strategy because of the meager rewards as some claim they only received a few bucks for videos that received millions of views.
With the introduction of the new program, TikTok is now accepting these concerns and revising its methodology to provide a larger average gross revenue for qualified video views.
Creators must produce long-form, original videos of the highest quality in order to begin earning money through the program, Tech Crunch notes again.
To put things in perspective, the TikTok Creator Fund does not currently need videos to be longer than one minute in order to qualify for payment.
The maximum video length on TikTok was increased from three minutes to ten minutes last year, and the platform is now trying to incentivize creators for publishing longer material.
Furthermore, the initiative provides creators with access to a new dashboard that offers more details on expected earnings, video performance metrics and analytics, and video eligibility conditions.
When the Creativity Program becomes available, both people who are now enrolled in the Creator Fund and those who are not may switch to it.
However, creators will not be able to go back to the Creator Fund after they've signed up for the new program.
