Pixar has been giving us movies that shape childhoods for years now. Aside from the impressive animation, they also tell good stories, so much so that some of them can make a grown person cry. Here are a couple of movies that might make you shed a tear or two.
1. 'Monsters Inc.'
We have all come to the fluffy Sully and the one-eyed Mike over the years as we watched them panic over the little girl who cannot be scared. In their time together, Sully and Mike realized that laughter produced a better result for a power source than screams in fear.
With all that they went through, Mike and Sully grew to love the kid that they feared was toxic to the touch, and even went to great lengths to protect them from Randall. It was no surprise that some cried as they sent Boo back to the human world forever to protect her.
2. 'Inside Out'
One of the best things about "Inside Out" was that it helped children understand how feelings worked a little bit more, and it has taken us on an emotional rollercoaster as we watched Riley struggle with how she felt with the changes around her.
To add to that, we were introduced to Bing Bong, the main character's imaginary friend, as pointed out by Movie Web. Bing Bong just wants her to remember him once more. Ultimately, he sacrificed that dream to save Joy so Riley can be happy again.
3. 'Toy Story 3'
The "Toy Story" franchise is among the most beloved of all animated movies. Kids spied on their toys waiting for them to move, and it inspired them to care for their toys more. The third movie brings us to a sad reality: We will all eventually grow up.
Andy moving away for college means that his childhood companions will have to be left behind. The toys he grew up playing with find a new home, and just before Andy leaves, their new owner Bonnie waves Woody's hand goodbye, causing many now-adults to choke back tears.
4. 'Up'
The movie follows the adventures of a Wilderness Explorer named Russell, and an old man named Carl, who decided to travel to a destination along with his house using actual balloons to fly to Paradise Falls, as mentioned in CBR.
As the movie progresses, Carl starts to warm up to Russell, and it is revealed why he wanted to go to Paradise Falls in the first place. The film shows us the life of Carl and Ellie, and in those few short minutes, we felt Carl's pain as he lost the love of his life.
5. 'Finding Nemo'
This particular title won't need you to hang around for a while before you see the sad scene. You'll see it at the beginning as Marlin, the father clown fish loses his family after being eaten by a barracuda.
Of course, we all get somewhat of a happy ending since one egg survived, who we all know in Nemo. Although, there is a fan theory that mentions how Marlin was actually hallucinating Nemo to cope with the grief of losing everything and pointed out that Nemo is Latin for "nobody."
