The release of the final "Super Mario Bros. Movie" trailer comes five months after the first trailer for the film was released. According to a report by The Verge, the trailer is "more of an overview of what to expect, but it includes both a very dark intro and some side-scrolling action.'
As mentioned, the final trailer feature a myriad of characters appearing in the movie, including the titular character himself, Luigi, and Bowser.

Additional Details Revealed During Nintendo Direct
Per a report by GameSpot, a few more details about the upcoming "Mario" film was announced during the Nintendo Direct event dedicated to the movie.
Series creator Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that the movie has completed post-production. It has also been confirmed that the boots Mario wears in the movie as been recreated in real life. In fact, fans will find it on display in Nintendo's New York store beginning March 10, which is known in the fandom is Mario Day.

Produced by Illumination, "The Super Mario Bros. Movie' is based on the much-loved video game franchise Mario. The film stars Chris Pratt as the titular character; a decision that has been met with much criticism when it was first announced.
Joining Chris Pratt are Charlie Day and Jack Black, who play Luigi and Browser, respectively. Anya Taylor-Joy is likewise part of the voice cast as Princess Peach, while Keegan-Michael Key plays Toad and Seth Rogen plays Donkey Kong. Other members of the voice cast include Fred Armisen, Sebastian Maniscalco, and Kevin Michael Richardson.
Initially scheduled for an April 7 release, the date has been moved up so fans can watch the film two days earlier on April 5.

Speaking of fans' displeasure of Chris Pratt's casting, many of criticisms against this casting decision often mentions that Charles Martinet, the original voice of Mario, should have been the one to voice the character in the movie.
A report by TheGamer notes that "Many have criticized the studio for recasting Mario at all, feeling that it's an insult to Martinet and voice actors as a whole."
Martinet himself as expressed gratitude for the love and support Mario fans have showed him. If it is also any consolation for disappointed fans, he will be in the movie in undisclosed cameos.
