Women have been shaping more than just the technologies of our time, regardless of which period they are in. They also had a hand in influencing and bringing success in show business, sometimes more than the men could ever hope to do.
This fact is still true in modern cinema and the movie industry, especially in the past few years.
Here are some of the movies on Disney+ that feature women
'Frozen'
One of Disney's best-known movies is 2013's "Frozen," a movie still beloved to this day thanks to its soundtrack and narrative.
The movie features two sibling princesses, Elsa, the elder, who has the power to control ice and frost, and Anna, the energetic younger sibling that didn't get any magic powers. Unfortunately, an accident involving Elsa's power almost killed Anna, sending the elder sibling into a state of isolation until she ascends the throne.
However, years of isolation and being shut out pushed Anna to question why Elsa is so cold and distant, sparking events that could change the fate of their kingdom, Arrendelle, and their relationship as sisters for better or worse.
Elsa is voiced by Idina Menzel from another Disney movie, "Enchanted," while Anna is voiced by Kristen Bell, who starred in movies like "When in Rome" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall."
'Tangled'
"Tangled" is Disney's adaptation of the timeless fairy tale of Rapunzel with some twists, magical or otherwise.
The movie features Rapunzel's journey of self-discovery as she slowly discovers her identity and explores the outside world after spending years inside her mother's tower. Along the way, her journey also improves the lives of many of the characters she meets, including a certain motivated horse.
Interestingly, Rapunzel is voiced by none other than Mandy Moore, who sang many popular songs like "Cry" and "Candy." She also sang many of Rapunzel's songs in the movie, such as "When Will My Life Begin" and "I See The Light."
'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'
One of the more recent Disney movies to come out is "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," a sequel to Disney's 2018 film "Black Panther," though it also acts as a tribute to Chadwick Bose, who played as T'Challa, King of Wakanda and the titular hero., Black Panther.
The movie features the events of the vibranium race and the off-screen death of T'Challa, with his sister, Shuri, taking the lead role.
During the movie, Shuri must navigate the political and regal duties T'Challa previously took care of to safeguard Wakanda and its people from invasion and exploitation.
'Encanto'
"Encanto" is an animated musical fantasy comedy film that tells the story of the Madrigals, a family blessed with magical powers all except for one: 15-year-old Mirabel.
During the film, Mirabel will play an important part that will change the Madrigals and how they interact with each other forever, though things may not go as planned in this journey of forgiveness, acceptance, and self-worth.
You may have heard much about the movie's soundtrack with songs like "We don't talk about Bruno" and "Surface Pressure," two of its most successful ones, according to Rolling Stone.
'Queen of Katwe'
"Queen of Katwe" is a 2016 biographical drama from Walt Disney Studios that tells the story of Phiona, a Ugandan that saw her world change when she learned how to play chess, providing her with an opportunity to escape from a life of poverty in her home country.
The movie features Lupita Nyong'o of "Black Panther" fame, though it went out to theaters a few years before "Black Panther" went to the big screen.
