Amazon offfering Verizon Moto X for $49.99

Verizon currently charges $199.99 for the Moto X, but a new deal from Amazon brings the price down to $49.99.

The Moto X is still a very popular smartphone. It brought the neat feature of being able to speak to the handset, even while its asleep, to perform various tasks. Motorola and Google have received high praise for allowing us to be able to something like just speaking to the Moto X that's charging on the tablet and asking what the temperature is. The smartphone is smart enough to wake itself up, search for the current temperature, and then read it out loud without requiring the owner to get out of bed.

Verizon is currently charging $199.99 for the Moto X when signing a new 2-year contract. Amazon is undercutting the carrier by a significant amount. You can now pick up the Verizon Moto X for $49.99 from the retailer.

The Moto X learns your voice and won't accidentally let your friends issue commands to play a joke on you; it uses a natural language processor and contextual computing processor to really learn your voice and your voice only. The Verizon Moto X features a 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED HD display and is powered by a custom dual-core 1.7Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Motorola's X8 Computing System and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit (GPU). The smartphone ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is expected to receive an update to Android 4.3 in the near future. The handset includes 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM.

It is packing a 10-megapixel rear camera with the ability to record 1080p video and also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. When it comes to connectivity, the Moto X includes a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. Motorola has included a 2,200 mAh battery that can get up to 13 hours of talk time.

You can order the Verizon Moto X for $49.99 through Amazon when signing a new 2-year contract. Amazon is further sweetening the deal by offering free two-day shipping with the order.
