Stress - everyone has felt it, and if you haven't, you will sooner or later.
According to the WHO, stress is a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation; a natural human response that makes us address life's challenges and threats.
Anything and even anyone could be a source of stress, and you could either face it or flee from it. However, managing the stress that thing is making you feel is also important.
With April being Stress Awareness Month, here are some ways for you to handle stress with some techy assistance:
Play Soothing Sounds
Remember the line they always say in cartoons and films when people are having difficulty peeing: "Go to your happy place?" Try doing that when you're stressed, but not by imagining it, but by listening to it.
YouTube, Spotify, and other audio streaming apps have videos and content that feature certain sounds you'd probably find relaxing. These include the gentle crashing of the waves on a beach, the sounds of the crickets chirping away in the night, or even the rustling of the leaves and birds singing in a forest.
Getting A Virtual/Voice Assistant
Getting organized is a source of stress for some due to the number of things they must do on certain days, making them hard to track or even do if there's no time.
Thankfully, technological advancements have made it possible for AI to keep track of such tasks and more through virtual assistants like Apple's Siri and Google's Bixby. Getting voice assistant devices like Amazon's Alexa and Google Home can help you delegate, track, and schedule tasks, allowing you to take them off your worries until they remind you of them.
Follow A Fitness Video
Sometimes, going physical is the only way to handle stress, but not with people. Exercising is one way to manage stress, and it has its benefits - it lets you take off your mind on what's stressing you, and you get fitter and buffer for it.
WebMD mentioned in its report that exercising causes the body to release chemicals called endorphins, which are the body's "happy chemicals." These interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain and trigger a positive feeling in the body.
Play A Video Game
Playing video games is also a good way to handle stress in short, controlled bursts. After all, a video game is an interactive form of media that could provide an escape from the real world thanks to its graphics, storytelling, and gameplay.
After all, its interactivity makes it a great distraction to take your mind off things for some time. They could even give a refreshing and fulfilled feeling depending on what you choose to play; games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, fl0w, Journey, and even Stray are relaxing and soothing to make them feel therapeutic to the mind and heart.
