T-Mobile recently unveiled its "Phone Freedom" plan, As the name suggests, it will allow customers to switch from one carrier plan to another without being bound to a contract. The company will also provide a wireless plan upgrade that comes with its new rate plan.
T-Mobile's Uncarrier Move Gives Customers an Exit from Their Current Plan
One of the selling points of T-Mobile's Phone Freedom is Go5G Plus. This is the company's new wireless plan that enables users to upgrade their devices every two years. The company gave assurance to their current and oncoming customers that they will enjoy the same device deals as their previous ones. Furthermore, customers applying for multiple lines will also get $270 "in added value every month," according to MacRumors.
T-Mobile's Go5G Plus plan offers 50GB of hotspot data per month and 15GB of data in Mexico and Canada every month. At this point, the company offers a promo with a free 5G handset. Customers availing of this promo are also eligible for a trade-in that comes with a free third line.
As per The Verge, T-Mobile's current free phone promos require customers to add a new line or avail of a new rate plan. However, the mobile phone company wishes to change all that with its Uncarrier move. This time, customers can avail of Go5G Plus promo by using their current eligible phone for trade-in.
The Go5G Plus plan also allows 24-month payment plans instead of the usual 36-month plans from other carriers such as Verizon and AT&T. T-Mobile president of marketing, Mike Katz, told The Verge that it is not a part of the company's plan to move to a three-year payment scheme.
T-Mobile made the announcement of its new plan along with plenty of other promotions on April 20th, which could be the company's way of saying that they wanted to "smoke the competition," according to The Verge.

T-Mobile's New Rate Plan is a Little More Expensive than Usual
While some customers might be drawn by T-Mobile's offer to switch carrier plans freely, the Go5G Plus plan is the most expensive plan from the company. The rate is higher compared to others as it currently stands at $90 per month for a single line with AutoPay support. Customers will get a cheaper price offer by adding more lines. It will cost $150 per month if the customer applies for a second and third line. Adding a fourth line will cost $185 a month.
T-Mobile's Go5G Plus offer is quite similar with Magenta MAX for the three-line promo, but the former is more expensive when four lines are availed. Meanwhile, the carrier's Magenta, Essentials and Go5G plans remain the cheapest options among their current offers. Go5G, to note, is a plan without unlimited high-speed data, unlike the Go5G Plus.
Go5G Plus plan also includes monthly access to Netflix and Apple TV Plus, making the hefty price justifiable. Still, T-Mobile's "Phone Freedom" is expected to be the main attraction of the new rate plan since many customers are looking into a more convenient and adjustable device payment plan.
