Leaked T-Mobile retail guide reveals Nov. 20 as Nexus 5 release date

A leaked T-Mobile retail planning guide shows the carrier has scheduled Nov. 20 as the launch date for both the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7.

When Google announced the Nexus 5 it revealed that it would sell the unlocked smartphone through the Google Play Store and that it had partnered with Sprint and T-Mobile to carry the handset as well. Sprint has already confirmed that it will start offering the Nexus 5 to its customers on Nov. 8 for $149.99 when signing a new 2-year contract. T-Mobile still hasn't committed to a launch date, but a leaked retail planning guide shows the carrier has scheduled Nov. 20 for its Nexus 5 launch.

TmoNews received the image above from one of its sources that claims that "this is the guide management is going off for this month." The site points out that this leaked guide does not confirm that the Nexus 5 will launch on Nov. 20, especially since there is no mention of pricing and availability.

The new Nexus 5 features a 4.95-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display with a pixel density of 445 pixels-per-inch (ppi) and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. The smartphone is powered by a top-of-the-line 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit (GPU) and 2GB of RAM.

The handset also ships with an 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and improved HDR+ mode, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and the ability to record 30FPS 1080p video. The smartphone's wireless capabilities include a 4G LTE radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/nc, Bluetooth 4.0 with Bluetooth 4.0 LE abilities, NFC, and GPS. The Nexus 5 comes with 16GB of internal storage and uses a 2,300mAh battery, which will provide up to 13 hours of talk time. The handset also supports wireless charging out of the box, allowing you to place it on a compatible charger and just let it charge, without having to plug a cable into the device. Its measurements are 69.17mm wide, 137.84mm tall, and 8.59mm thick and weighs in at 130g.

While we can't be 100% sure that T-Mobile will begin selling the Nexus 5 on Nov. 20, the carrier has confirmed it will launch the Nexus 5 in November. For now we'll just have to wait for the official date to come straight from T-Mobile.
