Since tech companies are all jumping into the technological marvel that is AI, it's best to revisit movies that may have insights into how things might turn out if we aren't careful. Here are a few movies that show us just how dangerous artificial intelligence could be.
1. 'Wall-E'
It's not always about sentient artificial intelligence that brings about the end of humankind, which is what we see in the movie "Wall-E." Yes, there is a part where the assistant to the captain of the ship prevents them from going back to Earth, but it's more than that.
It's also the danger of humans becoming too lazy, as they grow reliant on machines that can do everything for them, even eliminating the need to walk. The ship in the movie called Axiom provided just about everything for humans, resulting in them becoming unhealthily obese.

2. 'I, Robot'
The movie starring Will Smith, as suggested by GameRant, is close to reality in a not-so-distant future. As we know, Tesla is already developing humanoid robots with the purpose of making life easier, just as the robots are in the movie as they do chores in and out of the house.
Although we aren't that far ahead with AI to the point that it takes over the world, we can't simply dismiss the possibility, no matter how ridiculous it sounds. Remember, there was a time when fuel-engine cars were even unthinkable, and now we have electric cars.

3. 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'
Like the antagonist in the second movie of the "Avengers" franchise, it's quite possible that artificial intelligence could suddenly realize that humankind might need a little reset because of all its flaws. It would take a small coding error for AI to perceive humans as the enemy.
Since AI is trained based on human data, it's quite likely that news will be included as well as history. If you look through them yourself, you will see a lot of faults that could make AI think that humans are the problem. Imagine AI being able to hack through defense and offense systems. Yikes.

4. 'Terminator 2'
Will this list really be complete without "Terminator" movies? In the film, we see an intelligent neural network called Skynet that is deadset on erasing humanity on the planet. As mentioned in Gizmodo, AI achieved sentience after being fed a lot of information.
With the emergence of artificial intelligence that is becoming increasingly powerful and smart, maybe we should tone down our efforts to make them intelligent enough to outsmart humans. Otherwise, we might have a similar predicament as John and Sarah Connor.

5. 'A Space Odyssey'
I think people are smart enough not to program self-preservation into an AI to the point that it would prioritize its own survival over humans, but with electronics being able to recognize which of its components are damaged, we can only imagine what can come next.
In the movie, the AI that controls the system of the spaceship was being shut down after making mistakes, it decides to go rogue to prevent that. Since AI lacks certain human cognitive capabilities, it may not be able to discern which threats are human or not, and that's kind of frightening.
