PlayStation Plus subscribers may want to finish their playthrough of some free games soon.
Sony recently updated its Last Chance to Play list, adding 16 games from its PlayStation Plus subscription service that would leave it for good.
The PlayStation Plus games saw some premium must-have titles leave its list of offerings in May, with games such as Marvel's Spider-Man, Metro 2023 Redux, and Shenmue 3 now gone from the subscription service, per Eurogamer.
Outgoing PlayStation Plus Games June 2023 Details
Sony mentioned in its List Chance to Play list on the PlayStation Store that 16 games would leave its PS Plus Extra and Premium service, with some being removed from the Extra tier while others are leaving the Premium category, per Game Rant.
PlayStation Game Size confirms the removal of the 16 games from PlayStation Plus' offerings on its official Twitter account, with all of them being gone by June 20. These games include:
- 9 Monkeys of Shaolin
- Agents of Mayhem
- Ash of Gods: Redemption
- Black Mirror
- Defense Grid 2
- Descenders
- Gods Will Fall
- Joe Dever's Lone Wolf
- John Wick Hex
- KeyWe
- No Straight Roads
- Party Hard
- Red Faction
- Red Faction 2
- Redeemer: Enhanced Edition
- Wytchwood
PlayStation Plus users are advised to complete their playthroughs of these games as soon as possible; they will become unplayable after June 20, meaning they can no longer play these titles once they leave PlayStation Plus. Fortunately, while Sony is removing a considerable amount of games from their PlayStation Plus subscription service, they aren't as high profile as the ones that left the subscription service in May 2023, meaning that it wouldn't be a total loss if you didn't get to play these games.
For those unaware, 30 games left the subscription service in May, which include Injustice 2, Lego Harry Potter Collection, Batman: Arkham City and Arkham Asylum, Marvel's Spider-Man, Resident Evil, and NBA 2K Playgrounds 2. Shenmue 3, This War of Mine, Metro Last NLight Redux, Deadlight Director's Cut, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and Homefront: The Revolution is also among the games that are no longer available on PlayStation Plus.
PlayStation Plus Subscription Service Details
Sony previously revamped their PlayStation Plus subscription service to utilize an updated tier system. These tiers are Essential, Extra, and Premium, per Game Rant.
The Essential tier provides the subscription service's core benefits, which include access to online multiplayer, monthly games, exclusive discounts, and other benefits. The Extra comes with the previous tier's benefits plus a catalog of downloadable PlayStation 4 and 5 games.
Lastly, the Premium tier offers all of the previous tiers' benefits and a catalog of previous generation console games from the PlayStation 3 to the PlayStation 1 and PlayStation Portable games.
The games leaving the Extra and Premium tiers are included in their catalog of PlayStation games, making them free to play until they're removed, or the subscriber cancels and ends their PlayStation Plus subscription.
