5-inch BlackBerry Z30 coming to Verizon on Nov. 14 for $199.99

Verizon announced in late October that it would exclusively offer the BlackBerry Z30 in November and the carrier has now provided a launch date and price for the 5-inch smartphone.

BlackBerry is going through a restructuring and has announced that it intends on staying in the smartphone game. This follows an announcement from the company a few weeks prior, announcing that it was leaving the consumer space to focus on the enterprise. It appeared as if BlackBerry's smartphone days were numbered but soon word came out that the company was replacing its CEO and was going to take another shot at the smartphone market.

The Canadian smartphone maker is going to get that shot when it launches the 5-inch BlackBerry Z30 exclusively with Verizon on Nov. 14. Verizon has officially announced that it will begin selling the BlackBerry Z30 through its online store on Nov. 14 and has priced the handset at $199.99 when signing a new 2-year contract.

The Z30's 5-inch display is the largest on any BlackBerry smartphone so far. BlackBerry has also added Miracast to allow the smartphone to wirelessly connect to compatible HDTVs and mirror exactly what's on the Z30's display. Gamers will appreciate that, as well as the quad-core GPU and 2GB of RAM designed to allow more advanced gaming on the handset.

The BlackBerry Z30 features a 5-inch Super AMOLED 1280 x 720 display with a pixel density of 295 pixels per inch (ppi). The smartphone includes 16GB of internal storage and features a microSD expansion slot to allow users to add more memory. It runs BlackBerry 10.2 OS, is powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with quad-core Adreno 320 graphics processing unit (GPU), and packs in 2GB of RAM.

The Z30 also has an 8-megapixel rear camera with Auto-Focus, Back Side Illumination, 5 element F2.2 lens, Flash, continuous & touch to focus, image stabilization, Proprietary Enhanced Super, Resolution Digital Zoom (5x), and 1080p HD video recording. It also uses a 2-megapixel front facing camera. In terms of wireless connectivity, it features a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS, and NFC. The smartphone is powered by a large 2,880 mAh battery, which will provide up to 25 hours of mixed usage.

You can order the Verizon BlackBerry Z30 online beginning on Nov. 14 for $199.99 when signing a new 2-year contract.
