Creative Ways You Can Light Up Your Room

Ceiling lights are good and all, but there are ways that you can light up your room creatively. Through these methods, you can also see results you won't usually get with simple overhead lighting. Here are some ideas you might want to try out.

1. Use a Projector

There are two kinds of projectors you can use for this. One is the screen projector you can connect to devices like your computer or your smartphone, the other is the laser projector which functions on its own and uses RGB lights. Of course, both have advantages and disadvantages.

The projector you can connect to a device gives you the freedom to display whatever you like, providing countless options. There are even those who use it as a window to make it seem like they are overlooking a particular scenery.

The downside to that is you can't really use it for long or you might burn up the lens. It also takes up more power than a fixed projector. The other option gives you a surreal ambiance as it projects stars or galaxies up your ceiling and you can use it longer, but the designs are limited.

2. Use Flexible LED Tubes

LED lights are all the rage right now thanks to mainstream TikTok content creators, but you can actually make it better. Usually, the lights you see on online content are installed along the lines of ceilings and walls, but flexible LEDs give you more possibilities.

These LED strips are usually encased in flexible tubes, which will give you the freedom to shape them however you like. You can write your name in cursive and install it on your wall, or add wavy lines in various colors on your ceiling.

3. Use a Black Light

Have you ever been to a black light party? People would wear fluorescent-colored outfits and apply neon-colored paint on their skin. Once the lights go out and the black light turns on, the vibrant colors will stand out. You can do the same for your room.

Using fluorescent or neon-colored wall paint, you can decide what design you'd want on your wall. It would work better if you have darker-colored walls. You would also need a light that's bright enough to illuminate the room for other purposes like reading.

4. Use Neon Signs

This is the same concept as the LED tubes, except neon lights have more intricate designs. Although LED tubes are flexible, there are still limits to how much you can bend them, and they're too bulky to make detailed forms.

Neon signs, on the other hand, have smaller tubing and are already fixed in place. Many neon signs also use more than one color which makes it more appealing. There are many choices you can pick that will fit your taste and the theme of your room.

If you're going for the club-ish or gamer den theme, this will fit right in. The only issue with it is the wiring. It's hard to hide the writing that comes with neon signs especially since they go on walls, but a bit of wire management skills might fix that issue.
