Amazon is offering the Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 for a penny on-contract, allowing for considerable savings over the $99.99 Verizon charges online and in stores.
Even before Nokia started using Windows Phone as its exclusive smartphone platform of choice, the company had a strong reputation for the quality of the cameras and imaging software it used in its handsets. Nokia's move to Windows Phone has allowed for even better camera hardware coupled with an OS that has allowed the company to create exclusive imaging software to run on its Lumia smartphones.
The Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 is the carrier's current flagship WP8 smartphone and brings with it a high-end 8.7-megapixel PureView camera. The camera uses a high-quality, wide angle Carl Zeiss lens and optical image stabilization (OIS). It also uses a powerful Xenon flash that adds more light when you need it, especially in low-light conditions. The rear camera can record 1080p Full HD video, while its front-facing 1.2-megapixel shooter allows for clear video chat and also has the ability to record 720p video. Microsoft has allowed Nokia more access to the WP8 OS than other licensees, which has allowed the Finnish company to deliver top-notch exclusive software applications and enhancements throughout the OS.
