Apple introduced its new Rapid Security Response update that will deliver important security improvements during software updates.
The new update is a software that is available for devices starting with iOS 16.4.1, iPadOS 16.4.1, and MacOS 13.3.1.
According to Mac, the Rapid Security Response will also be the key to resolve security issues more faster, especially on issues that might have been exploited or reported as part of "in the wild."
How to Use Rapid Security Response
Once the device is up to date, Rapid Security Responses will be applied by default.
To check your device settings:
- iPhone or iPad: Go to Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates, then make sure that "Security Responses & System Files" is turned on.
- Mac: Choose Apple menu > System Settings. Click General in the sidebar, then click Software Update on the right. Click the Show Detail button next to Automatic Updates, then make sure that "Install Security Responses and system files" is turned on.
Apple also advices its users that if letter "(a)" appears after the software version number then the Rapid Security Response has been successfully applied.

According to Apple, "For the protection of our customers, Apple doesn't disclose, discuss, or confirm security issues until an investigation has occurred and patches or releases are generally available," the website stated.
