Elon Musk led the announcement on the formation of the new artificial intelligence company, xAI.
"The goal of xAI is to understand the true nature of the universe," stated at the xAI website.
Lead by Musk, xAI's team is comprised of experienced people who worked from DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Tesla, and the University of Toronto.
A Twitter Spaces chat will be done on July 14 to answer some queries about the new company.
xAI as ChatGPT Alternative
Musk was known to be one of the people behind the creation of OpenAI, the develop of ChatGPT. However, he left the board in 2018.
Bloomberg reports that Musk believes that ChatGPT is "effectively controlled by Microsoft."
He is also known for frequently criticizing OpenAI after he left.
"I'm going to start something which I call 'TruthGPT', or a maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe," Musk said in an interview with Fox News Channel last April.

xAI's Current Team
The xAI website currently listed 12 members working towards the goal of xAI.
Most of the members are known to have worked on projects like DeepMind's AlphaCode and OpenAI's GPT-3.5 an GPT-4 chatbots.
The team is under the advisory of Dan Hendrycks, who serves as the director of the Center for AI Safety.
As of its announcement, xAI informed the public that they are actively recruiting experience engineers and researches to join their team in Bay Area.
