Elon Musk hinted through a series of tweets about his plans to change the logo of Twitter from the blue bird to X.
"And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds," the Twitter owner tweeted.
Musk also posted the Twitter logo with the caption, "Like this but X," that further confirmed the speculation of rebranding.
Twitter, Inc. to X Corp
In 2022, Musk initiated his plans to acquire Twitter by buying shares until he became its largest shareholder with 9.1 percent ownership stake.
Musk then eventually bought Twitter for $44 billion and became the owner and CEO of the company.
The ownership to Twitter was then formally transferred to X Corp, a subsidiary by X Holding Corp. owned by Musk.
"It should have done a long time ago," Musk stated on the logo redesign during a Twitter Spaces appearance.
The Future of Twitter
Aside from the logo change, Musk also revealed an additional URL that redirects to Twitter.
"X.com now points to twitter.com," he tweeted.
In the same tweet, he also announced that the interim X logo will go live this Monday, July 24.
"Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square," Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino wrote.
Twitter users are in for "rapid feature launches" after its rebranding, as promised by Yaccarino in her tweet.
