NASA To Launch Own Streaming Platform NASA+

NASA revealed that the organization is working to expand its digital platform power by revamping its flagship and science websites, upgrading the NASA app, and launching its own streaming service, NASA+.

"NASA's legacy footprint presents an opportunity to dramatically improve the user experience for the public we serve," NASA chief information office in Washington, Jeff Seaton, explained.

No specific date has been announced but the trailer stated that it will be launched sometime this summer.

New Stream Platform, NASA+

NASA promised that its incoming streaming service will not require a paid subscription. In addition, it will be available for both iOS and Android.

According to the associate administrator for Office of Communication, Marc Etkind, the goal is to put space on demand within the viewer's fingertips.

"Transforming our digital presence will help us better tell the stories of how NASA explores the unknown in air and space, inspires through discovery, and innovates for the benefit of humanity," Etkind stated.

The NASA+ is expected to be integrated on media players like Roku, Apple TV, and Fire TV.

NASA Continues Efforts for Digital Visibility

Aside from launching a new streaming platform, NASA also assured that the agency will continue to connect additional agency websites and multimedia libraries to streamline all the information across the whole NASA programs.

"NASA+ videos showcases our discovery programs in an interdisciplinary and crosscutting way, ultimately building stronger connections with our visitors and viewers," said Nicky Fox, associate administrator, Science Mission Directorate, NASA Headquarters.
