Google is gearing up for the new personalized and customizable Fitbit app that will be released this fall.
According to Google, the new design aims to give Fitbit users a holistic view of their health and wellness by focusing on metrics that fits its user.
Starting August 1, Google opened a limited beta version to select Fitbit users. The company is firm on getting feedback before launching the app to the public.
Fitbit's New Tabs
The redesigned app brings emphasis on key information with its new three-tab structure. In here, users will see an overview of their daily goals and metrics, discover inspiration and guidance, and get personal details on their achievements and progress.
The "Today" tab features a customizable metrics based on user's personal goal. This will help in visualizing the progress after days, month, or year. In addition, graphics such as charts and icons are used to show the user's health trend.
The "Coach" tab serves as the content feed about health and fitness. A curated list of workouts and mindfulness sessions are also included.
The "You" tab is place to adjust personal details and goals, manage communities, and track achievements. Badges were also redesigned for this update.
A New Fitbit Experience
Google shared that the new app features updates based on user feedback.
In addition, the company assured various improvements such as visual refresh, easier tracking, and more secure and private data settings.
"The redesigned Fitbit app pushes us toward our vision of helping make everyone in the world healthier, and we'll continue to update it with user feedback from this beta," Google wrote on a blog post.
