When Google made its flagship Nexus 5 available for purchase through its online Google Play Store, the smartphone quickly sold out and has pretty much remained that way. Google has updated the Play Store and it now shows that the 32GB White Nexus 5 is in stock and will ship in 1 - 2 business days. All other Nexus 5 variants are out of stock, with the 32GB Black Nexus 5 listing a shipping estimate of Dec. 11.
The Nexus 5 is sold unlocked and is capable of running on both AT&T and T-Mobile's 4G LTE networks. The smartphone uses a 4.95-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display with a pixel density of 445 pixels-per-inch (ppi). The handset is the first device to ship with the latest version of Google's popular OS, Android 4.4 KitKat. The device is powered by a powerful 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit (GPU) and 2GB of RAM to provide a snappy user experience. It ships with 32GB of internal storage, but no expansion slot for additional memory.
Its camera capabilities include a high-end 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and improved HDR+ mode. There's also a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and selfies. Both cameras have the ability to record 1080p HD video @ 30FPS. The Nexus 5's wireless connectivity options consists of a 4G LTE radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/nc, Bluetooth 4.0 with Bluetooth 4.0 LE abilities, NFC, and GPS. Google has included a 2,300 mAh non-removable battery, which it claims will provide up to 13 hours of talk time. The smartphone is 69.17mm wide, 137.84mm tall, and 8.59mm thick and weighs in at 130g.
