President Barack Obama reveals why he's not allowed to have an iPhone

President Obama just revealed he's not allowed to have an iPhone due to security concerns.

Even when you're the President of the United States and the most powerful man in the world, there are still some things you just can't have.

Consumer electronics and more notably Apple devices in particular seem to cross all boundaries and are used and preferred by everyone from a 9 year old elementary school student all the way up to President Barack Obama.

While speaking at a meeting with youth on Wednesday to promote his healthcare law, the President revealed to his young audience that he is not allowed to have an iPhone due to "security reasons," but quickly followed up with admitting he uses Apple's tablet. The President reportedly still uses an iPad 2 that was personally given to him by former Apple CEO and founder, Steve Jobs.

This isn't the first time the Commander-In-Chief expressed his appreciation for the iPhone maker. During a recent news conference about the state of the government's healthcare plan, the President acknowledged that the website Americans use to sign up and buy health insurance has not been up to par, but promised it has improved and will continue to improve. He further said that buying health insurance will never be like buying a song on iTunes.

The President seems to be a fan of Apple and even went so far as to bring up iOS 7 when speaking about the glitches the healthcare website has experienced since going live.

"Consider that just a couple of weeks ago, Apple rolled out a new mobile operating system, and within days, they found a glitch, so they fixed it. I don't remember anybody suggesting Apple should stop selling iPhones or iPads or threatening to shut down the company if they didn't. That's not how we do things in America. We don't actively root for failure. We get to work, we make things happen, we make them better, we keep going," said President Barack Obama.

The President does own a smartphone and it's one that he fought very hard to keep. It's a BlackBerry with special security software, but only 10 people have access to his personal email address. He has certainly been the most tech-savvy U.S. President, as his two predecessors, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, never used email during their presidencies.
