Google Search Adds Grammar Checker

Google Search is now equipped with a grammar checker that can help with fixing sentences or phrases while doing a quick search.

Although the feature might seem new, but Google confirmed to The Verge that the company launched the grammar check last June. The update remained invisible to most users despite using Google Search every day as it does not automatically applies to any grammatically incorrect searches.

How to use Google Search Grammar Checker?

At first you would think that this feature comes automatically, however, you would have to put "grammar check" at the end of your sentence for it to be checked.

As an example, the phrase "what did you go" will give a search result of a "where did you go song."

However, if you typed it as "what did you go grammar check," Google will put the grammar check feature on.

Aside from grammar, the feature can also correct spelling mistakes, and even suggest missing punctuations on your sentence or phrase. However, Google advised that the current AI systems used by Search might not be 100 percent accurate, especially with partial sentences to be checked.

What Google Search Grammar Check Can't Do?

Google warns that the feature will not work on searches that are dangerous, hateful, violent, vulgar, and more. On the other hand, the feature works on all other browsers across desktop and mobile.

Currently, the feature is available only in English and is still on beta. Other users would have to wait and see if the feature will be available globally and cater other languages as well in the future.
