YouTube is up for some viewer experience modification as it changed the home page layout based on your YouTube watch history preferences.
The app's watch history feature enables YouTube to give video recommendations that fits your interest. Regardless, YouTube has given its users the choice of enabling and disabling its watch history.
Disabling YouTube Watch History
Starting August 8, users with disabled watch history and have no significant prior watch history, the YouTube home feed will look different as there will be no recommended videos to watch.
On the other hand, the search bar and other tabs will still be available. In this way, users will have more freedom to search, explore, and browse among their subscribed channels.
According to YouTube, this new viewer experience will enable them to learn which features rely on watch history and make it "more streamlined" for users who prefer to search for videos than browse on the recommended videos.
New Home Page Layout Availability
Although it was announced that YouTube started the release since August 8, the feature is still not available for most. Youtube reminded that the change will appear "slowly, over the next few months," so you have to wait and check it regularly.
In the meantime, you can try disabling your watch history even without the new design feature. To change your watch history preferences just visit My Google Activity at any time.
