Early October just became a great period to be an Assassin's Creed fan.
Ubisoft recently confirmed that it is releasing Assassin's Creed Mirage earlier than expected, giving series fans less time to wait to play its latest entry.
Ubisoft previously announced it is releasing Assassin's Creed Mirage on Oct. 12 for the PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
Assassin's Creed Mirage New Release Date
Assassin's Creed fans won't have to wait for a longer period to play Assassin's Creed Mirage. According to Ubisoft's post in its official Assassin's Creed Twitter/X.com account, the game has gone "gold" and is coming out on Oct. 5 - a week earlier than previously announced.
The development is quite surprising for some people - October 12, Asassssin's Creed Mirage's first release date, is less than two months away as of press time. However, a report from Gameranx revealed that Ubisoft's team responsible for the game's development got through the project earlier than the company initially expected.
This development also explains the gold status Assassin's Creed Mirage got once developers were through developing it. For those unaware, going gold means the developers have reached a point in a game's development that it is ready for its public release.
The earlier development finalization allows Ubisoft to start manufacturing copies of Assassin's Creed Mirage alongside its packaging. From there, the copies the company produces will be shipped out to retailers and end-consumers, eventually.

Whether Ubisoft will work on a day-one patch for the game is still unclear. Developers typically continue working on a game even after development to clear out some bugs or further optimize the game to a gamer's chosen platform with said update.
Regardless, the earlier release date is a boon to Assassin's Creed fans, especially those who wish to experience an entry that goes back to the series' roots. Many series fans found that the last three games (RPG-focused) lack the soul of an Assassin's Creed game, dividing the fanbase been classical and RPG fans.
What To Expect In Assassin's Creed Mirage
Ubisoft advertised Assassin's Creed Mirage as a love letter for fans of the series' classic games. It is set in 20 years before the events of Assassin's Creed Valhalla and features Basim Ibn Ishaq, the Assassin (or Hidden One) Eivor meets in their adventure.
Based on material Ubisoft released, Basim's stealth and combat style is very similar to that of Altair and Ezio, down to the hidden blade and their use of a hood. Players will be engaging in quests in stealth- and parkour-focused missions, much like in the earlier games.
In fact, Basim can freerun and use equipment reminiscent of Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed 3, along with a few new ways to get around early medieval Baghdad. Smoke bombs, throwing knives, and urban stealth make a return. However, Ubisoft has something new in store: Basim seems to have a supernatural ability allowing him to strike multiple opponents almost simultaneously.
Assassin's Creed Mirage will also have a new feature called the "History of Baghdad," which provides players with historical context about locations, items, and cultural events they will encounter in the game as Basim in early Medieval Baghdad, per Game Rant. The feature, which Ubisoft integrated as part of the game's Codex and database, will provide players with historical context about the locations, items, and cultural events featured in-game.
