Elon Musk Locks NYU Professor Out of X After Refusing to Meet

One petty action from Elon Musk a week is no longer the minimum as he does something that cements his image again. The tech billionaire locked a professor/podcaster out of X, formerly known as Twitter, for declining an invitation to meet him.

Yet Another Musk Tantrum

Scott Galloway is a professor at New York University, who also happens to be a podcaster alongside Kara Swisher. He had no choice but to vent out his anger on X competitor Threads after Musk locked him out of X, according to him.

The professor found out that his account was restricted on Tuesday and saw that he was in for a 17-day suspension. He explained that it was likely in response to him declining Musk's offer to meet in person since his account was no longer accessible two days after.

Through a mutual friend, Musk tried to reach out to Galloway saying that he feels "unfairly attacked" by him, as mentioned in Gizmodo. In truth, people would be more surprised if Musk graciously accepted that Galloway did not want to meet with him.

The NYU professor has been vocal about his views on Musk, and he is not exactly painting the Tesla CEO in a flattering light. For one, he once said that Elon Musk had a "total lack of grace" when it comes to handling what once was Twitter before Linda Yaccarino took over.

He even said that Musk, in his opinion, "shows a bit of a God complex." Some would agree with that statement, but the person on the subject would probably take offense. To add to that, Galloway also said that Musk would be a legend if only he hadn't started tweeting.

He's not entirely wrong in the context given that Elon Musk has gotten into a lot of trouble for the things he tweeted (posted?). He even got into legal trouble after the whole 420 tweet with Tesla stocks, which is just the tip of the iceberg.

It Doesn't End There

This isn't his first petty move, not even the first one within a week. It's already a known fact that Musk doesn't take too kindly on people who oppose or offend him, which is the case for social media platforms that try to dethrone what once was Twitter.

Two days ago, X users found that links on the platform that led to other sites like Bluesky, Threads, Instagram, and Facebook, were loading slower than usual. Specifically, it took around five seconds before they were redirected to the sites.

This was also the case for the news publications that Elon Musk has antagonized before such as The New York Times, as reported by Tech Crunch. The delay in traffic was likely the X owner's way of discouraging users from heading to the sites that he disliked.

There were those who conducted tests to see if all the links had the same delay. However, when it was tried on YouTube and Fox News, both loaded at relatively normal speeds. In response to the action, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted a "thinking face" emoji on Threads.
