You can now pick up the Verizon Moto X for a penny from Amazon, which is a nice savings over the $99.99 Verizon is currently charging online and in-store.
The Moto X proved to be a very popular smartphone for Motorola when it offered the handset for $349.99 curing its Cyber Monday sale, which caused its online store and Moto Maker site to go down. The company announced it was going to offer customers the chance to purchase the smartphone on Dec. 4 and Dec. 9 at its Cyber Monday $150-off pricing. Motorola quickly sold out of its stock on both dates in less than 10 minutes. If you're looking to get a Moto X at a great price, a penny is all it will cost you from Amazon.
The retailer is currently offering the Verizon Moto X for $0.01 when signing a new 2-year contract, which is a much better price than the $99.99 Verizon is charging in stores and online.
The Moto X features a 4.7-inch 720 x 1280 HD AMOLED display with a pixel density of 316 pixels per inch (ppi). The smartphone is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Motorola's X8 Computing and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit (GPU). The handset ships with Android 4.2 but is upgradable out of the box to the latest Android 4.4 KitKat via an OTA update. It comes with 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM.
Motorola has included a 10-megapixel CLEAR PIXEL rear shooter with autofocus, LED flash, and the ability to record 1080p HD video. The smartphone is also packing a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and selfies. Its wireless connectivity options consist of 4G LTE radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 with LE and EDR. The Moto X uses a non-removable 2,200 mAh battery that will provide up to 13 hours of talk time and 10 days of standby time.
