Meta became the next tech company to slowly transition back to office work after its announcement that employees should report to the office three days a week.
Meta Is Back at Office
Due to the pandemic, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg saw the potential efficiency of working from home. Since then, Meta has been promoting a future with remote working.
Things began changing when Meta notified its employee last June that the company will be returning to the office. Meanwhile, Meta also clarified that the mandate will not affect the employees who are originally tagged as remote worker. Employees who originally works on-site will be forced to return.
Meta explained that while the company saw an efficient workflow on remote working, an in-person distribution of work remains to be the most effective way of improving the company. Company executives also emphasized that some tasks are more challenging to do remotely than in-person.
Meta Follows Other Big Companies
This is not the first time that big companies are switching back to its old nature. In fact, most of the Silicon Valley companies have already implemented a three-day work week once the pandemic was out.
Even companies who saw success and benefitted from remote working, such as Zoom, have already mandated its employees to come back at the office. For Zoom, those who live within 50 miles of the office should report on-site.
Amazon, Apple, and Google employees are already working on a three-day office set up.
