Ghostwriter Returns With 'Whiplash'

Ghostwriter rose to fame after his song "Heart on My Sleeve" became viral. The song's popularity was an immense success for the artist as it gained traction on streaming sites like Spotify, Apple Music, and more. However, the song was then removed later on.

Months after silence, Ghostwriter is now back but this time he used the AI-generated voices of Travis Scott and 21 Savage. The song titled 'Whiplash' got 3.3 million views after a day it was posted on TikTok. It was also re-uploaded on Ghostwriter's X account.

"The future of music is here. Who wants next?" his the creator wrote. The New York Times reported that people behind the project have been meeting with record label, tech leaders, and music platforms to discuss the powers of AI. Other music companies have already sought actions to protect the intellectual property of their artists.

Grammys Might Consider Ghostwriter's Submission

The NY Times also reported that Ghostwriter had submitted "Heart on My Sleeve" for Grammy Awards next year. The song was filed under best rap song and song of the year, which are both awarded to track writers.

"As far as the creative side, it's absolutely eligible because it was written by a human," CEO of Recording Academy Harvey Mason Jr. explained.

However, one of the requirement involves commercial availability and broad release of the recording, which is as far as we know of, the song was removed on streaming services.

"I'm not scared of A.I., but I do believe work needs to be to make sure that things are in place so that the creative community is protected," Mason added.
