New Demon Slayer Game Comes With a Surprising Turn

The new game based on the animated series "Demon Slayer" surprised the fans after revealing a Mario Party-style format.

"Demon Slayer" is originally a manga series that ran from 2016 to 2022. In 2019, the manga was picked up to be an animated series and since then become a popular series for anime fans. The premise of the series lies heavily on adventure and action which is why it became a surprise when the new game took a different turn.

The new Demon Slayer game will be a digital board game and will be released exclusively to Nintendo Switch. Based on the trailer, the game bears similarity to Mario Party. The game can be played by up to four players, as Tanjiro Kamado and his friends chase the Magical Sword.

The trailer revealed the gameplay that will be done by rolling dice and playing various mini games. This includes obstacle course, drawing, memory games, and more. Regardless of a different game style, the game assured that the characters will confront some familiar enemies and characters from the manga.

Demon Slayer Remains Popular

While the manga's last release was in 2020, the animated series are still currently ongoing. Fans will surely have something to look forward to as they wait for the next arc to unfold.

In 2020, the Demon Slayer, The Hinokami Chronicles was released by CyberConnect2 as a fighting action-game that bears more similarity to the original themes of "Demon Slayer." Currently, there are no news as to when The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will be released.

The new Demon Slayer board game will be available on Switch in 2024.
