Apple's recent event dropped plenty of interesting announcements from new iPhone 15 colors to its A17 Pro Chip. While those are exciting for iPhone enthusiasts, the electronics giant has piqued gamers' interests as it announced that several AAA game titles are coming to its latest iPhone release.
Triple A Gaming with the iPhone 15
Gamers will be excited to learn that through their phone screens, they will no longer be limited to standard App Store games or mobile versions of certain titles. The iPhone 15 Pro will be able to run games that are usually played on PCs or consoles.
This is made possible through cloud gaming, although players are yet to see how the titles will actually fare since even mid-tier PCs have a hard time running them. There are also other factors to consider such as internet speeds since it requires cloud access.
Titles that users will be able to play include the Resident Evil 4 remake, Resident Evil Village, Death Stranding, and even the upcoming Assassin's Creed Mirage, although that won't be until early 2024, according to The Verge.
There are titles such as the Resident Evil games and Death Stranding that are set to launch for the iPhone 15 Pro cloud gaming feature this 2023. However, with the demanding games, the battery might drain much faster than normal.
Plus, most cloud gaming titles don't come with in-screen controls, or at least that's the case with Android devices, which means that users will have to purchase a USB or Bluetooth controller that can be connected to the iPhone 15 Pro.
Best Controllers for iPhones
In addition to the $999 price for the iPhone 15 Pro which will be released this September 22nd, gamers who want to utilize its capability for cloud gaming with AAA titles will have to purchase controllers as well, but no worries since there are actually decent controllers out there.
For example, the Backbone One can be purchased for around $100, depending on the store. It comes with a standard edition with the A, B, X, and Y buttons, or the PlayStation Edition with the triangle, circle, square, and cross buttons.
There are also options for the connector type between the iPhone's signature Lightning or the USB-C cable, especially since the iPhone 15 lineup now has USB-C ports. It's not a guarantee, but it will likely work on the latest iPhone lineup since it's compatible with the iPhone 14 series.
There's also the Razer Kishi controller, which also functions as a controller that can be attached like Joy-Cons on the side of the screen. This particular controller is made specifically for iPhones, which might be better in terms of compatibility.
Sadly, this one won't be an option for the iPhone 15 Pro. The Razer controller uses a Lightning connector, and the iPhone 15 lineup has already been upgraded to USB-C ports. If you have your heart set on the Kishi controller, you could simply wait for the company to release a USB-C-compatible version.
